Third Grade

      WELCOME to the

   3rd Grade Web Page!

You have reached the 3rd grade web page to St. Joseph School.  I hope as a parent, you will find this very helpful.  On this web page you will find highlights of upcoming events, suggestions of websites, and links you and your child can use at home for extra help.  There will also be sites to use that go along with the text your child will be using in the classroom.  Student work will also be displayed on this site, so keep checking this page and you might be pleasantly surprised to see your child’s work.

Please feel free to contact me anytime if you have questions or concerns.

On the left, you will see some of the web sites I have used as a teacher that might also be worthwhile to you as a parent:

Major highlights of the year are mastery of  multiplication, a Religious based Academic Fair report and project, experiments in the Science Lab, Reading Theme Projects, mastery of Cursive Writing, and many interesting projects.  Extra effort is especially put into religious themes at Advent and Lent.

Third grade’s focus is on becoming more organized and responsible both with actions and academic work. Third grade homework should take about 30-45 minutes and is usually in the core subjects of Language Arts and Math.

We are doing a special “hand washing” by “Jesus” prayer service on Thursday, April 5 at 11:00 in the church. As usual, you are most welcome to attend. Hope you can join us!!!!!

Grandparent’s Day will be coming up in April. Stay tuned to notes or newsletters for more information.

An exciting event coming up in May will be a special “Native Lands” field trip with fourth grade to Wheaton at the Grundy County Fairgrounds.  Students will experience and appreciate other cultures and customs.
