4 Year Old Program on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday
Morning Session 8:30am-11:00am
Afternoon Session 12:00pm -2:30pm
(Afternoon Session will be made
available when the Morning session is full.)
The St. Joseph Preschool program will be designed to provide for
the development of the TOTAL child - the physical, emotional, social,
cognitive and spiritual aspects. The atmosphere will be both interactive
and engaging where young children will grow in awareness of God,
self and others.
Each child is unique in his/her pattern of development, due to their
environment and past experiences. The children shall participate
in a wide variety of growth experiences within a caring, Christian
atmosphere. With parents as partners, the St. Joseph Preschool program
will strive to provide experiences of spiritual, social, emotional,
and cognitive growth. We strive to make the child’s first educational
experience a positive one, where we meet our young children’s
spiritual and academic needs
•
To welcome the child into the larger Christian Community and assist
parents in raising their children Catholic.
•
To fulfill the educational ministry of the church by passing on the
faith to our future generation.
•
To foster independence and self-confidence.
•
To provide experience that aid in the development of appropriate
social behavior.
•
To encourage cooperation and socialization in large and small groups.
•
To develop large and small motor skills.
•
To expand the child’s communication skills through listening
and speaking activities.
•
To develop the child’s potential for thinking and learning,
for reasoning and problem solving.
•
To nurture the creativity and self-expression of each child through
play, art, movement and music.
•
To develop the potential for critical thinking and understanding.

Thank you for taking time to learn more about St. Joseph Preschool
program today. Whether you are surfing our website for the first
time or you have spent some time at our school recently, we hope
that you found it to be a most pleasant experience. While we tried
to provide you with a great deal of information, there are often
lingering questions that are missed. The office phone number is
(815) 838-8173. It would be my pleasure to assist and answer any
further questions. I thoroughly enjoy giving personal tours and
sharing “THE BEST KEPT SECRET
IN LOCKPORT” with future
school families. You are always welcomed to come back and schedule
an observation of individual classroom activities.
At St. Joseph School, we are so very proud of the quality education
that is provided in our faith filled environment. We are truly blessed
by a staff that exemplifies the spirit of Catholic educators. Our
teachers exemplify academic excellence, exceptional creativity, and
dedication. Our teachers are truly changing
the world…one student
at a time. Unlike our counterparts in the public school system, we
choose to change the world...eternally.
We are also blessed with a wonderful community. Our students and
families distinguish our school from all others. Our families are
actively involved in the education process and committed to modeling
the Gospel message. I speak from experience when I say that this
is truly a welcoming and caring community. At St. Joseph School,
we are truly a FAMILY that is committed to each other. Today, we
welcome you to be a part of our family.
As a parent, you are in the process of making one of the most important
decisions for your child. As you visit other schools throughout your
decision making process, I am confident that the qualities that St.
Joseph School represents will make a lasting impression on your family.
It would be my honor to assist your family in this decision making
process. If I can be of any assistance in any way, please do not
hesitate to call.
Many Blessing To You and Yours,
