What our Students Say...

View the Top Ten Reasons our 8th Grade Loves SJS

If you wonder about the value of the Catholic Education at St. Joseph School, wonder no longer!  At St. Joseph, our students are exposed to spiritual and academic excellence that make the sacrifice of Catholic education more than worthwhile.  To be a part of a school environment where our faith is demonstrated amongst our classrooms all day long is truly a gift for our children.  Please read on to see our catholic faith and spiritually shine through our students.  If you would like your children to be a part of the St. Joseph School family, please contact Miss Scheffler at 815-838-8173 or e-mail at LScheffler1@aol.com.

The Eighth Grade Class of St. Joseph School was asked to write what the Recognition of Faith means to them.  Their thoughts are given below.  It is truly amazing to read such inspirational words given by our very own young adults at St. Joseph School.

“Take the first step in faith, you don’t have to see the whole staircase, just take the first step.” Martin Luther King Jr.  As I read this quote it has showed me the right way to go and have faith right at my side.  Faith is my hero and I will always think of it as a healer.”  Krystal Garritson

“If you are a Catholic, you have a faith in Jesus, God, and the Holy Spirit.  Over the past few years, I have learned more and more about what faith can mean.  Faith not only means putting a great amount of trust in the main part of your religion, but you can put it in your friends, parents and relatives.”  Regina Morris

“Faith has helped me get through many tough times in my life.  Faith is believing in Jesus.  It is knowing that God isn’t always going to answer every prayer, but he tries his best.  Faith is trusting God.  He always does what is best for us.  He is always at our side, watching over us.” Christina Wilson

“My faith helped me get through some of the roughest times of my life and gave me comfort when members of my family were hurt or sick.  I know I can always turn to my faith for help in any situation and that is something I am very thankful for.”  Kelly Brightmore

“Faith is very important to me and should be important to everyone considering it is one of the few things that can keep you strong without ever giving up.  As long as you keep the faith, God will help you through all of the difficult times in your life that you will need to overcome.”  Amanda Lee

“Faith to me, is something, I count on so much, even though it isn’t something I can grasp in my hands.  To me, even as just a word, it is a very powerful one.”                Ameer Al-Khudari

“Without faith, I would be lost.  Faith guides my life and I feel it makes me a better person.”  Anna Bryniarski

“Faith has done many things for all people, and it is very important.  Faith gives us our conscience, inspiration, and just a basic idea on how to live our lives.  Faith is many things, but I believe the most important part of it, is who we are.”  Matt Pytlewski

“I know that God follows me because I am always safe.  He has followed me through every bad and good time.  I trust God and believe in him.  I hope that God is a part of your life.”  Ryan Tidwell

“Faith is when you put all your hope and love into God and you don’t care about anything else but what you want God to help you do or help someone you care about.  After many tragic moments, I have found out that I can always talk to God about anything.”  Austin Oremus

“Faith to me is much more than just a belief…it’s a lifestyle”.  Tony Rossi

“Faith does mean more than five letters.  It’s worth a thousand words, a million meanings.  A billion memories.  Faith can also mean loyalty, trust, confidence, and belief.  We mostly need faith when we’re in trouble and need some help, or if we were sad and lost a loved one.  We all know faith is there but sometimes we forget that it’s still with us.”  Deanna Waldvogel

“I know that faith is not only needed at mass.  Faith is needed everyday for different reasons.  I needed faith to get through September 11th and I am sure many more people in the world needed it then to. “ Peter Maloney

“As long as you have faith in God, everything will be okay.  It doesn’t make a difference whether you are praying for yourself or for others as long as you have faith in God, he will be with you.  If you are ever worried about something pray to God and he will help you.”  Anthony Glorioso

“To me my faith is a very great thing that takes one second to say and a lifetime to understand.  Faith is a magical thing that for some is easy to find, and for others quite difficult.  I think your faith is determined by how you are raised, and how you act towards others.  If you are reading this, those of you who do not have faith, pay attention and listen.  Faith is something no one can take away from you.  Your faith is inside of you.  People can take away your freedom, your home, everything.  One thing they can not take away your faith.  Your faith is a part of you that you should never let go.”  Becca Weinberger
